Watch Band’s Music
Caribbeanz Southern Stars Steel Band on Pacific Beat
The Caribbeanz Southern Stars Steelband was invited to perform on the popular TV3 ‘Pacific Beat’ programme. It was also aired on Maori TV.
Cuba Street Carnival
Second Time Coming, Bigger And Better
The event was held at the Onehunga Working Men’s Club and armed with our experience and knowledge from our other two Carnivals we were able to create a flashier, more colourful extravaganza. Wilder costumes, professional steelband performances and most importantly a bit more soul into our pan playing!
Zoo! Kids! Music!
This was the Caribbeanz Southern Stars Steelband second performance at the zoo. The crowd this time was much larger! We played under the hot sun while children came up to look at and touch our pans. We began slowly but picked up the pace and blasted through the rest of the set. Pity we did not have a proper sound system set up so that the crowd at the back could hear the wonderful steelband sounds!
It Just Gets Better And Better
Rose scents wafted through the air as pan music played in the background. The roses were a beautiful background for the Caribbeanz Southern Stars Steelband’s performance while the spectators lay on the grass underneath the warm rays of the sun. The Parnell Rose Garden was one of our first public events and we were delighted to have been invited to perform again in 2007 & 2008.
R.A.V.E
The Rotorua Arts Village Festival (RAVE) was the Caribbeanz Southern Stars Steelband’s first opportunity to travel outside of Auckland to perform and share our love of steel pan music. The crowd was very appreciative and it was a pleasure to have played there.
Christmas Parade In Takapuna
The Caribbeanz Southern Stars Steelband found themselves testing their skills and balance at the back of a truck during the Takapuna Santa parade. The band took up the challenge and came out a favourite with the crowd, most of whom had never heard a steelband before. It was definitely an experience for all to remember!
